Our art school was established in 1997 in Melbourne in view of a lack of substantial art education made available to young children. The founder of our school, Kitty Chung O’Kane initiated the opportunity to pass on her skills and knowledge in visual arts to young children. She believes that making an art education programme widely available to children from all walks of life will help reinforce the future appreciation of art by the general public. Also, it provides opportunities to bring out the best in children who are particularly gifted in visual art and gives them an opportunity to excel. The programmes have proven to boost self confidence and improved children’s learning abilities in academic subjects via their participation.
We proudly claim to be the only private art school in Melbourne that covers a complete curriculum in visual arts. Units include sculpting, drawing, painting, printing and textile. We offer art classes to students from prep to year 12 (all VCE art subjects) and also to adults.
We provide a friendly and non-competitive environment for the learning and enjoyment of art activities. We believe that students should acquire for their artistic growth and lead to their breaking of rules to become an individual artist with personal style.
Our well structured curriculum help students build up a good foundation of techniques and skills using a wide range of media in visual arts at a young age enable them to search for their strength and direction/focus for their studies at a senior high school level later on.
Most of our students are long standing students who are often outstanding students with their art studies at their own school. Also a good number of students have been successful candidates who exhibited at the prestigious Top Arts exhibitions, an exhibition that showcase excellent students works selected from all schools in the State of Victoria.
Our teaching team are either well experienced teachers or well respected artists. We all share the same passion in passing on our knowledge and skills in visual arts to the younger generation.
